The One Voice project is a unique experiential learning program that gives a company of students an opportunity to find and speak their ONE VOICE. Students embark on the creative journey of taking a collaborative idea/theme (usually from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals list) and, together, bring that idea into a production. We want them to know their creativity has direct impact for the world they are wanting to grow. As stories and theatrical experiences are powerful in that way, we are offering the experience of this purposeful creative collaboration to allow students to feel the journey that is needed to go from an idea to a product. This is where the 4 C's (creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and connection) are easily explored as students will write the script, design the costumes/set, produce the event, stage the story, and share their original production. They will be guided by the mono-myth formula of a 'Hero's Journey' (Joseph Campbell) to shape their story.
Students innovate with given materials while creating this new paradigm of inclusivity and contribution. Each One Voice Company brings unique talents and it is amazing to see how each company combines those talents to produce an original piece of intentional art. They are the ONE VOICE of tomorrow. And it is our job to make sure they are heard.
Congratulations to Past ONE VOICE Productions that have inspired us all...
